South Africa recently experienced heavy torrential rains, which resulted in flooding in many parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. The flooding has resulted in heavy loss of life, damage to infrastructure and destruction of homes, leaving many displaced.
Government, along with its social partners, has stepped up efforts to provide relief to affected communities.
Efforts to restore normalcy are ongoing.
