Pretoria - First Lady Tobeka Zuma was honoured with the Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award in Health and Social Development at the weekend.
She was one of the recipients of the awards at an event organized by Umvithi Youth development consultants’ leadership Rural Youth Development Foundation for Young Achievers Awards Initiative in Durban on Saturday.
The First Lady congratulated all the recipients of the Young Achievers Awards for the role they each played as individuals in bringing about development in the province.
She said she had no doubt the recognition will leave all those who received awards feeling honoured, humbled and deeply moved.
She went further to say that she believed the award was a recognition of the true value of love they have for the less fortunate people and compassion which they practice, in accordance with their value system.
Zuma thanked the organisers of the awards for taking the lead and joining forces with those who have succeeded in addressing the empowerment of youth, in various ways, one which is supporting the entrepreneurial activities to address the diseases, poverty and unemployment in KwaZulu-Natal. – SAnews.gov.za
