Pretoria - South Africa and Cuba have expressed satisfaction at the level of their relations, particularly bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

This emerged as International Relations Deputy Minister Ebrahim Ebrahim wrapped up the 7th South Africa - Cuba Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) meeting with his Cuban counterpart Marcos Rodriguez Costa in Havana on Wednesday.

The JMC meeting focused on domestic political and socio-economic issues in both countries while also touching on regional issues, including developments in Africa and Latin America.

South Africa has held bilateral and fraternal relations with Cuba for the past 15 years.

Minister Ebrahim was expected to conclude his visit by laying a wreath at the Pantheon of the Internationalists who died in Africa, at the Colon Cemetery in Havana.
