Heritage Day is celebrated annually on 24 September, where the public is encouraged to celebrate their cultural heritage.

The national celebrations will be held in Mpumalanga under the theme, 'Celebrating the heroes and heroines of the liberation struggle in South Africa.'

According to the Department of Arts and Culture, President Jacob Zuma will be invited to deliver the keynote address.
