Pretoria – The Department of Labour will host a jobs fair in Mathibestad, in the North West, to bring potential employers and work seekers together.
The fair will take place at Moretele Local Municipality Hall on Friday under the theme ‘My job, my future’. It will be hosted by Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant and her deputy iNkosi Phathekile Holomisa.
The fair is being held under the auspices of the Public Employment Services (PES) branch of the Department of Labour. It is aimed at assisting work seekers with placement in different forms of employment, including learnerships and internships.
The day-long event will also provide work seekers with information on career guidance, how to apply for jobs as well as to prepare them for job interview processes. Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) representatives will also be available to provide information on self-employment initiatives and funding.
The jobs fair was launched by the Minister in 2012. A number of Ministers, the North West Premier, provincial MECs and local municipality councillors are expected to attend the fair. – SAnews.gov.za
