Bafana return to winning streak

Pretoria - Bafana Bafana got back on a winning trail when they defeated Jamaica 2-nil in a friendly match in Germany on Wednesday night.

After a goal-less first half, Jamaica's defending team was caught napping when striker Surprise Moriri scored the first Bafana goal in the 51st minute.

Siyabonga "Bele" Nomvete put the final nail on the Reggae boys' coffin when he netted South Africa's 2nd goal shortly after full time, ensuring Bafana's 1st victory in four international outings.

The score could have easily been 3 or 4-nil but Bafana strikers failed to convert the most clear of opportunities including a Siphiwe Tshabalala free kick in the 59th minute that went straight to goal keeper Dwayne Kerr's hands.

While the clash was regarded a friendly, the win will certainly be crucial for Bafana's psychological boost ahead of the World Cup kick-off in less than five weeks.

The victory will also give Coach Alberto Parrera an indication of which players to ditch as he prepares to name his final team for the tournament
