Pretoria - The public has been invited to vote on the pressing challenges African leaders should give priority to ahead of the 19th World Economic Forum (WEF) next week.
The public can log on to its site www.weforum.org to vote for the challenges they think leaders should give priority to in the next 12 months. The results will be presented to participants at the opening of the three-day meeting on 10 June.
People can also submit short videos using YouTube whereby they explain why they voted for a particular issue. The best videos will then be shown to all participants at the opening session.
Among some of the topics people can vote on is migration, poverty reduction, water access, regional economic cooperation, trade, good governance and health systems.
WEF is an independent international organisation committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
This year's theme is "Implications of the Global Economic Crisis for Africa".
Over 7 000 prominent leaders from Africa and the world will meet to discuss the global and regional implications of the global economic crisis as well as develop a new roadmap for Africa's future.
President Jacob Zuma will be among the leaders that will make a presentation at the forum.
