Pretoria - The Spanish National Football Team, commonly referred to as La Roja, has been announced on Monday ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup.
The Spanish, who will be participating in the Confederations Cup for the first time, will play against the underdog New Zealand at 8:30pm on 14 June at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg in the North West.
Earlier on the same day, South Africa will lock horns with Iraq at the Coca Cola Park in Johannesburg at 4pm.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque announced the 23-man squad which included the likes of goalkeepers, Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Pepe Reina (Liverpool) and Diego Lopez (Villarreal).
The defenders will include Raul Albiol (Valencia), Alvaro Arbeloa (Liverpool), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Carles Puyol (Barcelona) and Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid).
The Spanish midfielders will consist of Xabi Alonso (Liverpool), Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Santi Cazorla (Villarreal), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Xavi (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), David Silva (Valencia), Juan Mata (Valencia) and Albert Riera (Liverpool).
The strikers will include David Villa (Valencia), Daniel Guiza (Fenerbahce), Fernando Torres (Liverpool) and Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao).
On 20 June Spain will battle it out against the host, Bafana Bafana in the Free State at 8:30pm.
