Thursday, April 14, 2011

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma is to deliver the eulogy at the funeral of the late KwaZulu-Natal Judge President Herbert Msimang this Saturday, his office said.

Msimang, 60, who will receive a special provincial official funeral, died at the Midlands Medical Centre in Pietermaritzburg following months of ill health. He had not been at work this year after being admitted to hospital with a heart complaint.

The Presidency and Justice Minister Jeff Radebe have described his passing as a huge loss for the legal fraternity.

Flags have been authorised to be flown at half-mast at every flag station in the KwaZulu-Natal province on the day of the funeral.

A memorial service is planned for today at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg, while the funeral service will be held at Hilton College, followed by a procession to the Edendale cemetery. - BuaNews
