Pretoria - KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), Nomusa Dube-Ncube, has expressed shock at the murder of the Deputy Mayor of uThukela District Municipality, Bheki D. Mazibuko, who was stabbed to death in Bergville on Friday night.
"Our condolences go to the family and constituency of Deputy Mayor Mazibuko, whose untimely death is a loss to the uThukela District Municipality.
“The death of a councillor, who is an elected servant of the people, leaves a gaping void in the sphere of local government and this death has robbed us of one more foot soldier in our fight against poverty, inequality and unemployment,” said MEC Dube-Ncube.
The MEC has urged law enforcement agencies to investigate and take action against those responsible. - SAnews.gov.za
