SA Indigenous Classic Books to be unveiled

Bloemfontein-The South African Indigenous Classic Books will be relaunched in Bloemfontein today in celebration of International Literacy Day.

The indigenous language literary classic books, which were out of print, will be re-issued to promote a culture of reading and writing.

Copies of the first instalment of 27 reprints will be made available to the different provincial library services for distribution to community libraries. Sesotho titles include Mehlolo ke Dinoha and the popular drama Senkatana.

John Tsebe, the National Librarian, is expected to attend address the launch.

The National Library of South Africa (NLSA) will also announce the winners of the South Africa Library Week 2009 and Write2Read Competitions hosted by the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation
