Pretoria -  President Jacob Zuma will on Tuesday embark on a working visit to the Kingdom of Lesotho, to meet the country’s King Letsie III and the Coalition Leaders.

President Zuma, who is also the Chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security,  is expected to consult King Letsie III on SADC commitments to assist the Coalition Leaders to implement the Windhoek Declaration.

The President is also expected to hold discussions with the Coalition Leaders, to assess the progress in the implementation of the Windhoek Declaration, as well as other SADC decisions.

The visit follows the Ministerial Committee of the Organ meeting held on 31 August, as well as the President’s meeting with the Coalition Leaders on 1 September in Pretoria.

“The visit by President Zuma demonstrates a clear commitment by SADC to assist the Coalition Leaders to implement the Windhoek Declaration, as well as to assist the Kingdom to restore peace and stability,” the Department of International Relations said on Monday.
