President Zuma receives report on Limpopo textbooks

According to the Presidency, he is studying the report and has urged the Task Team to continue and conclude its work without any further delay.

"Zuma will pronounce on the report once the matter has been concluded," said the Presidency.

The President appointed the Task Team, led by Deputy Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene, to investigate every aspect of the failure of delivery of learners' textbooks in the Limpopo province.

The five-member team was expected to map out remedial action and make recommendations.

According to an earlier statement, the Presidency said members of the Task Team would investigate the causes of the non-delivery and delays to affected schools and make recommendations to prevent a future recurrence.

The team also comprises Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Enver Surty; Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation, Obed Bapela; Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Yunus Carrim and Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration, Ayanda Dlodlo.
