Pretoria - The Presidency has noted media reports suggesting that President Jacob Zuma will attend a horse racing event in Durban on Saturday, 6 July.
The Presidency said “the reports are not true”.
“President Zuma will not attend the 2013 Vodacom Durban July. He has also not authorised anyone to use his name to raise funds at the event,” the Presidency said on Thursday.
The Presidency further cautioned people about the unauthorised use of the President's name.
The Vodacom Durban July remains a key event on the KwaZulu-Natal social calendar, and the Presidency has wishes all the revellers a successful and enjoyable event. – SAnews.gov.za
