President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Tuesday respond to questions from Members of Parliament on government’s management of migration, the National Water Crisis Action Plan and interventions to combat illegal mining.
The President will appear before the National Assembly in Cape Town as part of Parliament’s Questions for Oral Reply session, one of the mechanisms through which the Executive is held accountable by Parliament.
According to the Presidency, the President will set out government’s efforts to stop migration-related issues and actions from harming South Africa’s image or standing.
“President Ramaphosa will share with Members of Parliament who have submitted questions for oral reply, South Africa’s contribution to efforts to ensure that the Republic of Madagascar returns to a constitutional and democratic order.
“The President will provide an update on the National Water Crisis Action Plan and plans government has put in place to restore the capacity of municipalities and strengthen accountability to ensure that communities receive reliable basic services which will enable job creation,” the Presidency said.
President Ramaphosa will further outline progress in government’s efforts to combat illegal mining and address its impact on communities and the economy.
The President’s appearance comes as government continues to implement measures aimed at addressing some of the country’s pressing social, economic and service delivery challenges. – SAnews.gov.za
