NW fatal crash kills two

Pretoria - At least two people were killed and 13 more seriously injured when a taxi they were traveling in collided with a truck on the R521 road between Rustenburg and Koster on Monday morning.

According to traffic officials at the scene, the 38-year-old taxi driver and a passenger died instantly, while the truck driver is reported to be in a critical condition.

The truck driver, who is also aged 38 and the other 12 seriously injured passengers were rushed to Job Shimankane Hospital in Rustenburg and Koster Hospital respectively.

Amongst the seriously injured were three children between the ages of 7 and 12 years, who are reported to be the children of the deceased taxi driver.

Motorists traveling between Rustenburg and Koster are requested to use alternative routes as the R521 road is still closed as traffic officials are still clearing the scene.
