NW crash leaves one dead, four others injured

Rustenburg - Fatigue appear to be one of the major contributors to road crashes in the North West, says the province's MEC for Public Safety, Howard Yawa.

His comments follow the death of a passenger after a side sweep and a head on collision accident that involved three vehicles on Friday night.

One person died while four other road users were seriously injured during the crash that occurred near the Bakwena Platinum N4 Highway outside Rustenburg.

"It would appear that the driver of the Ford Ranger fell asleep while driving," MEC Yawa said.

North West Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, reckless and or negligent driving against one of the drivers.
