Pretoria - North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo has appealed to residents of Letlhabile in Madibeng to exercise their freedom to protest with responsibility.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Premier called on residents to stop destroying public property and blocking the free movement of others, including the prevention of schooling in the area.

“The Premier would like to inform the residents of Letlhabile that MEC Molapisi of Community Safety and Transport Management and Collen Maine of Local Government and Human Settlements have been deployed in the area to work together with the community to find solutions to issues raised by the community,” said the Premier’s spokesperson Sam Mokaila.

The Premier appealed to the community to cooperate with the MECs in order to enable government to intervene.

“In addition, the Premier would like to assure the community of Letlhabile and other areas of Madibeng that the provincial government is ready and committed to deal with recurring service delivery issues in Madibeng and other areas of the province.

“There is therefore no need for the community to act in desperation because government is always open for dialogue with the community at any time,” said Mokaila. – SAnews.gov.za
