Pretoria - A momentous concert is expected to be held on the eve of the first FIFA World Cup on African soil in June next year.
The Official Kick-Off Celebration Concert for the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be staged at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on 10 June 2010 to welcome the tens of thousands of visitors to the country.
FIFA has appointed Control Room to create, organise and produce the event which will feature major African and international music artists.
The organisers of global-spanning live music events including Live Earth, Control Room, will announce the line-up of performing artists as well as ticketing information at a later date.
All proceeds from the concert will be donated to 20 Centres for 2010, the official campaign of the 2010 FIFA World Cup which aims to build 20 centres across Africa offering education and healthcare services as well as football training to disadvantaged communities.
