Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga will today visit injured Members of Parliament’s Basic Education Portfolio Committee in hospital.

The Department of Basic Education on Thursday said the Committee Chairperson Nomalungelo Gina and MP Cynthia Majeke are still in hospital in a serious condition after Wednesday’s fatal crash that claimed the life of MP Timothy Khoza.

“MP Ian Ollis has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home.”

The Minister will visit MP Majeke at Paarl Medi-Clinic in Paarl at approximately 11am after which she will visit MP Gina back in Cape Town at the Netcare UCT Private Academic Hospital at approximately 1.30pm.

The department said media will not be allowed into the wards of these hospitals as both MP’s are still currently in the Intensive Care Units (ICU), however the Minister will be able to speak to media at the Netcare UCT Private Academic Hospital after her visit. -
