Pretoria - The Hawks in Gauteng have pounced on five suspects, who were allegedly selling unpolished diamonds in Montana, Pretoria, on Tuesday afternoon.
Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the police received information that there were men selling a 33.3 carat unpolished diamond and a sting operation was conducted.
“The five suspects were found in possession of the diamond worth R5.9 million,” Mulaudzi said.
The suspects, aged between 32 and 62, will appear in court soon on charges of dealing in unpolished diamonds. – SAnews.gov.za
