Pretoria - Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality says work to restore power supply interruption in Sunward Park and Freeway Park in Boksburg began in earnest in the early hours of this morning.
Themba Gadebe from the municipality’s communication unit said two feeder cables supplying power to the area experienced fault.
“Both feeder cables were fixed at 2.15am but one of them failed a test again. Our engineers have since located the fault on the cable that failed the test and are working around the clock to fix it. In the meantime, the municipality will use one cable to rotate power on a three-hour interval between Sunward Park and Freeway Park,” he said.
The municipality wishes to apologise to the affected residents and assures them that all is being done to restore the power supply as speedily as humanely possible. - SAnews.gov.za
