Member of Parliament, Pinky Sharon Kekana, will be joining the Department of Communications as the new Deputy Minister.
President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed Deputy Minister Kekana on Monday night during a Cabinet reshuffle. She takes over from former Deputy Minister Tandi Mahambehlala.
President Ramaphosa announced the changes to the National Executive during a media briefing at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
Deputy Minister Kekana is currently a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Filling of Vacancies in the Commission for Gender Equality, a position she held since 16 November 2016.
She is also, among others, a member of the Standing Committee on Finance (National Assembly Committees), a post she has held since June 2014. She has been a member of the National Assembly since 21 May 2014.
Former Water and Sanitation Minister Nomvula Mokonyane was appointed as the new Communications Minister. – SAnews.gov.za
