DA holds Western Cape

Pretoria - Helen Zille is set to be the new premier of the Western Cape, following the Democratic Alliance's win in the province.

The Cape Town's Mayor, seemed to have wooed voters in the Western Cape province with 52 percent of them casting their ballots in favour of her party.

The African National Congress (ANC) clinched 33 percent and Cope 7 percent with the other parties taking the rest of votes.

The ANC has made a clean sweep in 8 of the 9 provinces.
