Cape Town - President Jacob Zuma is set to visit five provinces as part of government's ongoing service delivery monitoring and evaluation efforts.
One of the visits will be to Limpopo province on 7 July, where he will focus on health in line with government's commitment to ensure "a long and healthy life for all in South Africa."
On the other hand, Deputy President Kgalema Motlante is set to visit Petrusville in the Northern Cape on Friday.
The purpose of the visit is "to assess implementation of programmes under the War on Poverty campaign."
This came out during a post Cabinet media briefing on Thursday.
Shifting focus to the upcoming census, Cabinet spokesman Jimmy Manyi said Cabinet had called on all South Africans to "stand up and be counted," as the country will on 2 July mark 100 days to the start of the national census.
Manyi said the census was the key that "guides planning, policy-making, the allocation of resources and monitoring and evaluation of programmes and policies."
Cabinet has also called on South Africans to comply with the statutory requirement of the Regulation of Interception of Communication Act (RICA), which is part of government's efforts to curb crime.
Manyi emphasised that the deadline for the registration of cell phone SIM cards was 30 June.
He said Cabinet had noted the upcoming "high-profile media event" next month to formally launch the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS).
He added that Cabinet had noted Basic Education Minister Angie Motshega's planned release of the National Report on the Annual National Assessment (ANA) next week.
On a separate matter, Manyi said the commemoration of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking would take place in Fezile Dabi District in the Free State province at the weekend.
"This will take place under the leadership of the Department of Social Development and will provide a platform to address the challenges of substance abuse facing youth."
