Friday, April 8, 2011

Pretoria - Justice Minister Jeff Radebe has described the death of KwaZulu-Natal Judge President Herbert Msimang as a great loss for the judiciary and legal fraternity.

Radebe said his department was saddened and shocked by Msimang's death, adding that the judge would be remembered for his bravery and independent legal mind.

He said Msimang was one of the best students the University of Zululand has ever produced. The minister said he had known Msimang, who was recently appointed Judge President, for a long time.

"Many in the judiciary and legal fraternity were still expecting to learn more from him.
He was one of the sharpest legal minds and has contributed a lot in his field of profession towards the advancement of the course of democracy," Radebe said.

He extended condolences to Msimang's family on behalf of government. - BuaNews
