Pretoria – Drivers are advised to exercise caution on the roads following two accidents, which claimed the lives of 10 people and injured 70 others.
“Eight people died in a gruesome crash when a truck collided with a motor vehicle on the N1 south of Mokopane near Nyl Plaza in Limpopo on Sunday night,” the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) said.
The cause of the accident has not been determined at this stage.
Two other people died and 70 were injured when a bus crashed on the M1 in Chatsworth in KwaZulu-Natal in the early hours of Monday morning.
RTMC is working with all authorities to investigate these crashes.
Investigations will look into the conduct of each driver before the accident, the roadworthiness of vehicles, the quality of roads and environmental factors. –SAnews.gov.za
