Pretoria - The City of Ekurhuleni’s new Business Facilitation Network, which brings together a range of business solutions for small and big enterprises, is now open to the public.
The hub, which was officially opened by city mayor Mondli Gungubele last week, provides services ranging from business registration, training, planning tools/services, mentorship and coaching, incubation, marketing, access to finance and business linkages.
It boasts an investment and development application front office, which caters for all major and strategic investment and development applications to be speedily processed through an electronic document management system.
Gungubele said it would help investors and potential investors as it was a ‘one-stop shop’ for doing business in the city. He said it would also play a role in fighting poverty, unemployment and inequality as it created an enabling environment for investors to see the city “as the investment destination of choice”.
The business network is also aimed at improving relations with the broader investing community by providing a tracking service for strategic investment projects.

This move is set to inject billions of rands per annum.
It will also translate to increased domestic and foreign direct investment into the City; drive economic growth and make a dent on the city’s 28.8% unemployment rate by creating sustainable job opportunities.
The hub, set up at a cost of R10 million, is situated on the corner of Voortrekker and Monument streets in Kempton Park, just five minutes from the OR Tambo International Airport. – SAnews.gov.za
