Islamabad - Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain has left for South Africa to attend the funeral of former President Nelson Mandela, who passed away on 5 December at the age of 95.
Mandela's State Funeral on December 15 is set to be the biggest the world has ever seen.
Ten days of mourning have already been declared following the death of the Nobel laureate.
On Sunday, South Africa’s International Relations and Cooperation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane said they had received confirmations from 53 heads of state, heads of government and “also a list of former presidents, former heads of governments, eminent persons from all over Africa and all over the world”.
Mandela twice visited Pakistan and during his second visit, he addressed the joint sitting of the Pakistani parliament. He was well respected in Pakistan for his struggle against the apartheid.
Pakistan's parliament was adjourned on Friday to pay respect to Mandela. – SAnews.gov.za-Xinhua
