Pretoria - Cabinet has extended congratulations to US President Barack Obama who secured a second term in office.
"Cabinet congratulates President Barack Obama and wishes him success in his second term...," Minister in the Presidency for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Collins Chabane said during a post Cabinet media briefing on Thursday.
Cabinet also dished out praise to Communications Minister Dina Pule and her department for securing two seats at the recent 25th Universal Postal Congress which was held in Doha, Qatar.
"The appointments underscore the confidence that the international community has in South Africa and its people. And they also illustrate South Africa's commitment to working with other African countries to advance the continent. As a result of these appointments, South Africa will be the first time member of the Council of Administration and was re-elected as a member of the Postal Operations Council," he said.
Winners of at the SA Sports Awards also earned praise from Cabinet.
Cabinet congratulated the winners, commending them for their accomplishments in flying the South African flag high, both locally and internationally.
Cabinet also commended the winners of the Annual Public Sector Innovation Awards hosted by the Centre for Public Service Innovation. - SAnews.gov.za
