South Africa is inching closer to capturing and validating 100% of the votes cast in the 2024 National and Provincial Elections.

With more than 98% of votes in the 2024 National and Provincial Elections having being captured and validated, voter turnout for these elections is at over 50%.

​​​​​​​The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the sentencing of four accused, aged between 31 and 35, by the Thabazimbi Regional Court for tempering with and destroying essential infrastructure.

More than 97% of votes, or 22 677 of 23 292 voting districts, have been completed, according to the Electoral Commission’s 2024 National and Provincial Elections Results Dashboard.

Minister of Police Bheki Cele has reiterated that police operations will continue until after the elections to ensure that citizens are safe.
