Zuma in Nigeria for working visit

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, for a visit aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries.

Zuma will hold talks with his counterpart President Goodluck Jonathan. The talks are expected to include progress made by the South Africa-Nigeria Bi-National Commission (BNC) which is led at deputy/vice-president level, and other regional and continental issues.

Among the highlights of the visit, President Zuma will address the General Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Memorial Lecture to celebrate the life and times of this highly regarded fighter for peace and freedom.

The President will also visit Yola in Adamawa State, where he will receive an honorary doctoral degree in Humane Letters from the American University of Nigeria, in recognition of his contribution to humankind through outstanding leadership, creativity and excellence.
