Zuma "ecstatic" ahead of his big day

Pretoria - President-elect Jacob Zuma is in an "ecstatic mood" ahead of his inauguration later today, his spokesperson Zizi Kodwa told BuaNews.

Speaking from the Union Buildings, where Mr Zuma is expected to arrive any minute, Mr Kodwa said: "He is very ecstatic, he has been working since 4am this morning. He woke up very refreshed."

He added that he has been in consultation with his family ahead of the big moment.

Mr Zuma will be arriving with his three wives, while some of his sons had already taken their positions on the main stage of the amphitheatre at the Union Buildings.

Invited guests of Mr Zuma who have just arrived include former Madagascan President Andry Rajoelina, the African National Congress' Blade Nzimande and Miss South Africa Tatum Keshwar.
