"There is nothing I can say. FIFA President Sepp Blatter and his committee are satisfied with the standard of preparations, so now it is the question of 'wait and see'.

"We are ready for the tournament. All FIFA requirements have been met, stadiums are in a good condition and the security personnel is geared up to ensure peace and harmony and hospitality sector is all set to serve thousands of international soccer fans," Dr Jordaan said on Friday.

He said "lets get the ball rolling", affirming that everything was in place to deliver one of the best FIFA Confederations Cup on the African soil.

He added that the opening ceremony plans is superb and the world will realise that South Africa is always capable of successfully hosting international major events.

Meanwhile, LOC Chairman Irvin Khoza has indicated that 70 percent of 640 000 tickets for the tournament's has been sold, and Mr Blatter confirmed that this figure is not much different from Germany's FIFA Confederations Cup in 2006.

Dr Khoza said most of the tickets were bought by locals, which is a positive sign that South Africa and Africa are in love with football, adding that it is important for the local community to fill the stadium.

"Sunday will reveal that Africa is a home of soccer. We expect a fully packed stadium as all tickets for the opening match has been sold out.

"The enthusiasm and fever is there. Let's all rally behind our national team in the Sunday game and it will be fascinating to see South Africans attending other national teams' games," he said.
