Seven public viewing areas to be set up in Tshwane

Pretoria – The City of Tshwane has announced that it will set up seven public viewing areas where members of the public will be able to gather and celebrate the life of the late former President Nelson Mandela.

Various entertainment activities will take place at these viewing sites.

“Our programme would seek to integrate communities into the essence of the mood that described President Nelson Mandela and what has made him the icon of the world,” said the Executive Mayor of Tshwane Kgosientso Ramokgopa at a briefing in Pretoria on Sunday.

The following viewing areas will be set up across the city:

-          Mabopane Indoor Centre in Mawiga

-          Giant Stadium in Soshanguve

-          Suurman Community Hall in Hammanskraal

-          Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville

-          Absa Sports Ground in Olievenhoutbosch

-          Refilwe Community Hall

-          University of Pretoria Mamelodi Campus

-          Bronkhorstspruit Sports Complex/ Masakhane Hall

Ramokgopa said there would be Tshwane Metro Police and Emergency Services personnel deployed at the public viewing areas. – SAnews.gov.za
