Samba fever hits Durban

Durban - In honour of five time FIFA World Cup champions, Brazil, Durban will have "Brazil Day" at fan parks across the city.

The South American giants, popular with South Africans, will take on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (Korea DPR), at the Ellis Park Stadium in their Group G match on Tuesday night.

Korea DPR will go into the challenging encounter as the underdogs and will have to face two more tough opponents in Portugal and Ivory Coast.

Brazilian coach Dunga will be relieved to have a fully fit squad at his disposal.

Meanwhile, the onstage entertainment at Durban's official FIFA Fan Centre will include themed performances from Demi Fernandes and Linda Vargas Flamenco Troupe, as well as local artists such as Loyiso, Leanne and Madonsela.

The Umlazi Public Viewing Area (PVA) will also host Brazilian entertainers Black Rio and local artists Buselaphi and DJ Thabiso.

Bridge City's entertainment line-up includes City Bowl Mizers, Amageza Amahle, Maqhinga Radebe and DJ Paper Cut.

The Durban Beach Festival, which will be occurring at eight different locations across Durban's recently upgraded promenade offer a vast array of daily entertainment and activities, including Learn to Surf Clinics, Diski Dance clinics, beach soccer, volleyball and cricket.

The Amphitheatre stage, one of the Beach Festival nodes, boasts a fully equipped stage with constant onstage entertainment every day for the duration of the tournament.

On Tuesday, Brazilian performer Margareth Menezes and South African artists such as Tuffmasters, Mthaniya, DJ Dulaz will be in charge of ensuring the festivities continue
