Pretoria - Hlaudi Motsoeneng has been appointed as chief operations officer (COO) of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
“Following a board meeting, a recommendation was made to the Minister of Communications Faith Muthambi, who applied her mind and appointed Mr Hlaudi Motsoeneng as the corporation’s new COO,” said the broadcaster on Wednesday.
Motsoeneng had been acting in the position for almost three years.
SABC board chairperson Ellen Tshabalala said Motsoeneng’s appointment will assist in moving the organisation forward.
“Following this appointment, the organisation now needs to focus its energies on its operational efficiencies. The appointment will assist in moving the organization forward, as we create further stability and move towards meeting the deadline for digital migration.
“On behalf of the Board we wish to congratulate Mr Motsoeneng and trust that he’ll continue to contribute positively to stabilize the SABC,” she said. - SAnews.gov.za
