SA, Iraq match underway at Ellis Park

Johannesburg - The opening match for the FIFA 2009 Confederations Cup between South Africa and Iraq is underway.

The crowds shouted and blew on their vuvuzelas as the teams entered the field accompanied by President Jacob Zuma and FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

Both teams seemed to be ready to battle, with South Africa having an advantage as they playing on home turf and with a stadium full of supporters.

South Africa fans did not hold their emotions when Bafana Bafana greeted them and the sound of vuvuzela confirmed that time the time had come for the FIFA Confederations Cup to open on African soil.

Iraq fans also came out in their numbers to support their national teams and are banging drums as part of boosting the strength their national playing.
