SA condemns terrorist attack in Russia

Pretoria - The South African Government has condemned the terrorist attack which took in Russia on Monday which claimed the lives of more than 30 people and left scores injured.

“South Africa stands firmly with the international community in condemning all forms and manner of terrorism, including this morning's attack in Russia,” the Department of International Relations and Cooperation said in a statement.

“We believe that terrorism in any form and from whichever quarter cannot be condoned”.

The South African government sent its deepest condolences to the government and the people of the Russian Federation, particularly the families of the deceased and wish the injured speedy recoveries.

The attacks were in the form of two suicide bombings, and were in the town of Volgograd, 600km from Sochi, which will host the Winter Olympics in February, media reported. – SAnews.gov.za
