Pretoria - A Gauteng chemical engineering company, which is part of the Department of Trade and Industry (dti)’s Outward Trade and Investment Mission (OTIM) to Mozambique, is looking forward to opportunities in that country.
Thaleka Manufacturing Services which manufactures steel components is among the 23 companies that will participate in the OTIM which kicks off Monday. The company will get an opportunity to explore the market in Mozambique.
Organised by the dti, the mission will give South African companies an opportunity to interact with the Mozambican business people and present their products and services in one-on-one sessions.
“This is the first time we will be participating in a trade and investment mission and we are overjoyed as it will afford us an opportunity to learn more about the Mozambican market with the possibility of exploring opportunities that we can be able to identify there. We hope we will be able to export our products to Mozambique on our return,” said the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ndodi Mashalaba.
Mashalaba said participating in the mission will help the company understand how it can best align its products and services with the needs of potential customers in the sub-Saharan market, particularly Mozambique.
Thaleka Manufacturing has been manufacturing components for Transnet, Power Tech Transformers, Instrument Power Transformer Technologies and De Beers Mining Company, amongst others.
The investment mission will conclude on Friday. – SAnews.gov.za
