Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma has arrived at the Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital in Pretoria where he will wish former President Nelson Mandela a happy birthday in person.

His birthday has been declared International Mandela Day.

The President and Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula stood outside the hospital, with their hands over their hearts as the National Anthem was played by the SANDF marching band.

They then played the “Happy Birthday” song to the cheers of the hundreds of people who had gathered to also wish the former statesman a happy birthday.

He then walked into the hospital to visit Madiba at his hospital bed.
