President thanks S Africans for registering to vote

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has thanked the millions of South Africans -- especially the youth -- who registered to vote during the two voter registration weekends in March and April.

Delivering the Presidency Budget Vote in the National Assembly, in Cape Town, on Wednesday, the President encouraged registered voters to be ready to participate in the upcoming Local Government Elections, which are set for 3 August.

“The next step now is for South Africans to go out in their millions to exercise their democratic right to elect public representatives of their choice on 3 August 2016,” he said. - SAnews.gov.za
