Pretoria - Two police officers have been injured in a helicopter crash at Wonderboom Airport, north of Pretoria.
According to national police spokesperson, Brigadier Sally de Beer, the pilot and crewman were transporting the police helicopter from the Wonderboom Airport to the heli-pad at the police school in Pretoria West when the aircraft's engine failed.
"The pilot went through all the emergency procedures but the helicopter crashed in an open piece of land next to the road," she said.
The pilot and crewman sustained back injuries and were taken to hospital.
De Beer said both officers were in a stable condition and were doing well.
