Pretoria – The Gauteng Department of Education has called on all parents to confirm offers of placement by Friday or risk losing the offers to other parents who are on the waiting list.
The department on Wednesday said about 51 200 parents still have to confirm their offers of placement.
“This delay on the part of the parents is clogging up the system, making it difficult for the department to place all learners that have applied,” the department said.
The department has invited parents in Ekurhuleni to the Ekurhuleni Regional Open Day scheduled for Saturday, between 9am and 4pm, at the following suggested venues:
- Ekurhuleni North, Boitumelong Secondary School, 216 Mimas Street, Sedibeng Section, TEMBISA
- Gauteng East, Hoër Tegniese Skool Springs, 1 Witweg/Witroad, Lodeyko, SPRINGS.

“The placement of learners is on track. Districts are currently facilitating the placement of applicants that have applied between 19 April and 1 June 2016. All the applicants will be placed. Parents are advised to visit their respective District Offices, where they will receive the necessary assistance,” said the department. - SAnews.gov.za
