Minister welcomes new Inspector-General of Intelligence

Pretoria - State Security Minister David Mahlobo has welcomed the appointment of Isaac Dintwe as the new Inspector-General of Intelligence.

On Monday, President Jacob Zuma appointed Dintwe for a five-year contract effective, 15 March 2017.

"The Inspector-General plays a significant role in the checks and balances, and exercising oversight over the important work that we do.

“On behalf of the intelligence community, we welcome his appointment and look forward to working with him and his office,” Minister Mahlobo said.

Dintwe is currently employed by the University of South Africa as an Associate Professor of Forensics at the College of Law, School of Criminal Justice.

His nomination was approved by Parliament on 29 November 2016.

Both President Zuma and Minister Mahlobo have wished Dintwe all the best in his new responsibilities. - SAnews.gov.za
