Minister sends condolences to family of pilot

Pretoria - Transport Minister, Sibusiso Ndebele, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family and colleagues of the late SA Airlink pilot, Allister Brendan Freeman.

The 38-year-old pilot died on Wednesday morning as a result of the injuries he sustained when the SA Airlink aircraft he was flying crashed into a school ground in Merebank, shortly after take-off from the Durban International Airport on Heritage Day.

"Our condolences and prayers go to the family during this difficult period. We also extend our condolences to the entire SA Airlink family which has lost one of its employees."

The minister wished the three others who were injured in the accident a speedy recovery.
