Minister to meet community stakeholders in KZN

Pretoria - Home Affairs Minister Nkosazana DlaminiZuma will on Saturday visit Umzimkhulu in KwaZulu-Natal to engage community stakeholders on service delivery.

According to the Department of Home Affairs, the minister will lead a senior delegation to Umzimkhulu where she is expected to hold extensive discussions with community stakeholders.

"The visit comes within the context of calls by Minister Dlamini Zuma that strategic alliances with stakeholders in the communities as well as the people themselves are essential in addressing the challenges faced by the department," said the department on Friday.

The minister is of the view that only through partnerships with communities can government implement a durable programme of action in order to improve the lives of South Africans.

The meeting with community stakeholders will identify challenges in terms of service delivery by the department to the community as well as opportunities that will enable it to deliver on its mandate to the people.

According to the department, a programme of action is expected to be developed for the upgrading of service delivery to the community.
