Minister Mbalula takes fight against crime to Soshanguve

Friday, May 12, 2017

Pretoria - Police Minister Fikile Mbalula is due to visit Soshanguve in Pretoria today as part of a crime intervention campaign.

The Minister will use his imbizo to speak to residents about building community partnerships. He will also visit the local police station, address police officials as well as conduct anti-crime programmes in the area.

Minister Mbalula believes communities play a vital role in boosting the morale of the police. Ordinary citizens, he says, can inspire confidence in their societies that the battle against crime is surmountable.

This will be Minister’s second ministerial imbizo following the one hosted in Mfuleni in Cape Town last Friday.

The visit to Soshanguve comes on the heels of President Jacob Zuma’s visit in February.
