Pretoria - The Presidency says Justice and Correctional Services Minister Michael Masutha will, upon completion of internal processes, submit King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo’s application for pardon to President Jacob Zuma for a decision.
The Presidency said this after President Zuma last month referred a letter and petition he received from the Eastern Cape Provincial Chairperson of Contralesa, Inkosi Mwelo Nonkonyane, to the department.
The letter and petition requested that President Zuma consider granting the AbaThembu King Dalindyebo a Presidential Pardon.
“The President duly forwarded the petition and letter to the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services for further processing as the department responsible for such applications.
“Upon completion of all the internal processes, the Minister will submit the King's application for pardon to the President for a decision,” said the Presidency on Tuesday. - SAnews.gov.za
