The Deputy President, who is also the leader of government business, on Tuesday held a briefing session with the leaders of political parties to give them an update on the state of readiness for the memorial and funeral services of the late struggle stalwart, taking place on Wednesday and Saturday.

The meeting was held at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.

Government has established an Inter-Ministerial Committee led by the Minister in The Presidency, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, to oversee all the necessary logistical arrangements for both the memorial and funeral services. The IMC comprises all relevant stakeholders, including the bereaved family of Mama Madikizela-Mandela.
